FAQs
Here you’ll find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the sessions. Whether you're wondering what to wear or what happens if little ones aren't in the mood, this section is here to put your mind at ease. And if your question isn’t covered, don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m always happy to help!
What should we wear for the session?
The most important thing is that everyone feels comfortable and like themselves—especially the little ones. When you’re relaxed, it really shines through in the photos. Soft, neutral tones tend to photograph beautifully and help keep the focus on your family’s connection rather than the clothes. Try to avoid big logos or overly bright patterns on the top halves as these can distract from the moment. Coordinating (rather than matching) outfits with a similar colour palette works wonderfully. However, having said all this, if your child insists on wearing their favourite superhero socks—let them! It’s those real-life details that make the memories extra special.
What if the weather is bad on the day of our shoot?
If the weather takes a turn, don’t worry—we’ve got options. I’m always happy to reschedule within reason if conditions aren’t ideal, especially if the style of shoot you had in mind relies on a certain kind of light or setting. That said, some of my favourite photos have come from embracing the drizzle! There’s something wonderfully authentic about kids in welly boots and raincoats, splashing through puddles with huge grins. If you're up for it, a little rain can bring a lot of character (and fun!) to your session. We’ll always chat beforehand to decide what feels right for you.
What if my child doesn’t want to be photographed?
It’s completely normal for little ones to have moments where they’re just not in the mood—and that’s absolutely okay. It happens more often than you’d think! That’s why the Standard and Premium Sessions are up to 2 hours. It gives children the space to warm up, settle in, and most importantly, forget that I’m even there. I approach each shoot with patience and a calm presence, often stepping back and letting life unfold naturally. Before you know it, those shy faces start to light up, and we capture the most genuine, heartfelt moments—no pressure, no forced smiles, just the magic of your family being themselves.
How do I prepare my home or location for the shoot
Absolutely no need to go into full deep-clean mode before your session! All I suggest is having a few tidier spots around your home where you'd love to be photographed—think cosy corners, bright windows, or a favourite family space. We can always shift things around a bit to make the most of the light and create the best setting. What matters most is that your space feels lived-in and yours. The magic really happens when you’re doing something you love—so have a few activities in mind that bring your family together, whether that’s baking, reading, crafting, or building Lego towers. It’s these everyday moments that make the most meaningful memories.
When and how will we receive our photos?
After your session, I’ll carefully review and curate your gallery—selecting the best images that truly reflect your family’s story. Once your gallery is ready, you’ll receive a secure access code sent to your chosen email address, which you can use in the Client Access section of my site to view your photos. Depending on the package you've chosen, you’ll receive a selection of edited digital images to download. If any others catch your eye, you can either purchase individual photos or upgrade to the premium package.
What kind of activities should we prepare?
The short answer: whatever feels most you. This session isn’t about orchestrating a picture-perfect moment, it’s about capturing the magic in your everyday. There’s no judgment, no pressure to be anything other than yourselves.

You don’t need to buy crafting kits, bake an elaborate cake, or try to emulate someone else’s idea of “photogenic.” If your family loves snuggling on the sofa watching Bluey, or if the kids are happiest running races in the garden with grass-stained knees and gleeful shouts, that’s the story we want to tell. That’s your beauty.

So when thinking about activities, ask yourself what moments make your heart swell. Maybe it’s making pancakes on a lazy Sunday, building a pillow fort, or simply being together in your favourite room. We’ll work with whatever makes sense for you and help bring out the natural joy and connection that make your family unique.
What do you mean by digital copy of the photo?
When I say “digital copy,” I’m referring to a high-resolution image file that you can download and keep. It’s yours to use however you like, whether that’s adding it to a cherished family album, printing and framing it for your home, or simply sharing it online to show off your beautiful crew.
Do you provide photo books, hard copy prints?
I do offer beautifully designed photo books that showcase the highlights of your session, an elegant way to preserve and enjoy your memories for years to come. These are available upon request, and I’ll be happy to provide pricing once we’ve chatted about the layout and details that suit your family best.

At this moment in time, I don’t offer hard copy prints. However, you’ll receive high-resolution digital images that give you full flexibility to print wherever and however you like, whether that’s creating your own wall gallery or slipping your favourite moments into a family photo album.
Can I purchase additional digital copies?
Yes, absolutely! After your session, you'll be able to view all the fully edited images, each one thoughtfully curated to tell your family's story. Your package includes a set number of high-resolution digital downloads, but if you find yourself falling in love with a few more, you’re welcome to purchase extras for £35 each.

If you're eyeing multiple additional images, it may be more cost-effective to upgrade to the Premium Package instead of purchasing individually, something we can explore together to find what works best for your family, your preferences, and your budget.
What age do you recommend my children should be?
Any age is absolutely wonderful—every stage of family life has its own beauty worth capturing. My style focuses on connection, engagement, and natural movement, so if you're dreaming of those candid, joy-filled moments, I often recommend waiting until your youngest can sit up unaided. That little bit of independence opens up more possibilities for interaction and storytelling within the session.

If you're specifically looking for posed newborn photography, there may be other photographers whose work is better suited to that style. I tend to lean more into documenting how your family connects and flows together, rather than traditional newborn setups.

But here’s the most important part: I’m always open to ideas and will never say no. If your heart is set on capturing a certain moment in time, I’ll work with you to find a way that feels true to your story.
